SSC CHSL released that there are 4893 vacancies for recruiting the employees. The number of vacancies was released on 7 January 2020.
Pay Scale of the Posts:
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 (pre-revised)

Candidates who aspire to start their career right after completing the higher secondary education can apply for SSC CHSL 2020.
The candidate is liable to serve anywhere in the country if selected for a post through CHSL 2020 as the exam carry All India Service Liability or AISL.

The link to modify exam centre has been made active on the SSC website for the remaining candidates of SSC CHSL 2019.
The additional result for SSC CHSL 2018 Tier-II has been released on the official website in the PDF format on August 27, 2020. As per the result, 37 candidates have qualified for the skill test for DEO, 1741 has qualified for the DEO in CAG and 30822 for LDC/JSA and PA/SA.
The dispute regarding CHSL Tier-II 2018- disqualification of 4560 candidates due to unfair means has been resolved.
CHSL Tier-1 2019 exam dates for leftover candidates have been announced. Exams will be conducted from October 12-16, 2020, October 19-21, 2020 and October 26, 2020.
The SSC CHSL 2018 Cut-off and result has been released in March 17, 2020.
SSC CHSL 2018 Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Typing Test (TT) for eastern region candidates was scheduled for April 4-9. It has been postponed until further notice for COVID-19
The final SSC CHSL Result that was subject to the final order in WP No. 234/2018 of the Supreme Court is now free of that condition.
The Commission has declared that it will make decisions after the COVID-19 lockdown on SSC CHSL UFM Case Row 2020.

The authorities had released the new exam day guideline for the candidates but now the exam has been postponed due to COVID 19. The new exam dates will be released soon.
By taking into consideration the present situation created due to Covid-19, the Commission has decided the following:
No Bio-metric Registration of the candidates will be conducted. However, the thumb impression of the candidates is mandatorily for the Commission Copies and Attendance Sheets.
Candidates can bring their own masks in the examination hall. But candidates have to remove the masks for taking the photographs at the Registration Desks. These photographs can be used by the Commission for verification during subsequent Tiers of the examination.
Candidates can bring their own hand sanitizers (small size) and water bottles (transparent/ see-through).
Candidates can bring their own ball pens (having transparent outer cover). Translucent pens are not allowed.
The Commission has also issued necessary instructions to its Service Provider for cleaning/ sanitizing frequently used objects such as mouse/ keyboards/ tables/ door handles, etc. before the start of each shift of examination in the larger interest of the candidates.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the recruitment exam, candidates must make sure that they fulfill SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria as only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam. The basic minimum eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet in order to appear for SSC CHSL is that a candidate must be aged between 18 and 27 years as on January 1, 2020 and should have passed class 12.
The detailed eligibility criteria is as follows:
Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or should belong to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to permanently settle in India.
Educational Criteria: must have cleared or appearing class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized educational board or University.
Age Criteria: Age must be between 18 – 27 years as on January 1, 2020, however, certain reserved category candidates can claim for reservation according to the Indian government norms.
The age relaxation will be provided as follows:
For SC/ST – 5 Years
For OBCs – 3 Years
For PH – 10 Years
For PH + OBC – 13 Years
For PH + SC/ST – 15 Years

SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form is available from December 3, 2020. Interested candidates can register for Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination on the official website of SSC. Follow the steps given below to fill SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form:
How to Apply for SSC CHSL
Step 1: SSC CHSL 2020 Registration
Go to ssconline.nic.in.
Click on the link provided for CHSL stating “Click here to Apply”
Read the instructions and move on to the registration page.
Fill in basic details such as Name, Father’s Name, class 10 roll number, DoB, and Gender.
Enter verification text and submit the details.
A registration ID and password is generated. Keep it safe for future use.
Step 2: Uploading Documents
After registration, upload scanned image of recent passport size photograph and signature in JPG format.

Signature: 10 kb to 20 kb
Step 3: Fill SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form
The registration process completes after uploading images. Fill the application form by entering communication details, educational details, etc. Fill in tentative post preferences out of the following:
Lower Divisional Clerk- 898 vacancies
Postal Assistant- 2359 vacancies
Data entry Operator- 2 vacancies
Step 4: Pay SSC CHSL 2020 Application Fee
Application fees of INR 100 have to be paid via online or offline mode for the final submission of SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form.
Applicants can remit the fee in online mode till January 12, 2020 (11:59 PM) and in offline mode till January 14, 2020 during bank’s working hours.
However, the challan can be downloaded till January 12, 2020 (11:59 PM) only.
Online Mode: Use BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card
Offline Mode: Download SBI Challan from the web portal and pay and submit in any SBI Bank branch during working hours.
Note: Females and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the application fee. |
Take out the printed copy of the SSC CHSL Application Form 2020 after successful submission.
SSC CHSL 2020 Admit Card
SSC CHSL 2020 Admit Cards for Tier 1 are available on the regional website of the Staff Selection Commission. To access the admit card, use Registration Id, Date of Birth and Roll Number.
The hall ticket is required at the time of entering the exam center.
The commission releases the admit card separately for each tier. Only Tier 1 qualifiers can download the Tier 2 admit card.
There are 9 regions, admit card for each region can be obtained from the official website as per the region preference.
Candidates can download SSC CHSL 2020 Admit Card from the regional SSC website.
SSC CHSL 2020 Exam Pattern
Aspirants should make preparation strategy in accordance with SSC CHSL 2020 Exam Pattern for better performance. Below is the brief of SSC CHSL 2020 Exam Pattern:
The exam will be conducted in three stages- Tier 1(Computer Based Test), Tier 2 (Written Test) and Tier 3 (Skill Based Test)
Tier 1 will comprise 100 MCQs to be completed in 60 minutes.
Tier 2 will have questions on essay or letter writing to be completed in 60 minutes.
The next stage i.e. Tier 3 will be a skill-based test for selected candidates.
1/4th marks of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer in Tier 1 exam.
There is no sectional cut-off for any of the papers.
Candidates clearing the cut-off of tier-I will be eligible to appear for tier-II and subsequently for Tier-3 which is skill test and typing test of prospective new recruits.

Tier 3 exam will be a skill-based test where typing and data entry speed is analyzed of the prospective candidates:
Typing Test: For English, typing speed of 35 words per minute is required, For Hindi, typing speed of 30 words per minute is mandatory. Typing Test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.
Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. The skill test is conducted for the Data Entry Operator post.
